Engineering Leadership

Engineering Leadership Program is a technical management program for final year engineering students pursuing full-time B.E/B. Tech degrees. After joining the Aditya Birla Group in one of four manufacturing sectors, IE Cement, Metals, Pulp and Fibre or Chemicals, Fertilizers and Insulators, participants undergo training both on the shop floor, in the classroom, and digitally. Upon successful completion and subsequent confirmation, participants are placed into a full-time role in a technical function with their respective unit.


Students in their final year pursuing a full-time B.E/B. Tech from select engineering colleges are eligible to apply for the ELP program.

Hiring follows a 3-stage assessment process:

  • Online assessment tests
  • Group discussions
  • Personal interviews

Every ELP participant undergoes 1 year of training, which is divided into three phases:

  • Phase 1: Plant induction and plant visits
  • Phase 2: Technical training
  • Phase 3: On-the-job training and projects

Year 1 of ELP

  • Gain Global Exposure
    Develop a truly global perspective on matters of importance by working as a part of a multinational manufacturing leader.
  • Develop Technical Skills
    Enabling participants to develop their capabilities to understand and address complex problems faced by the manufacturing domain.
  • Gain On-ground Experience
    Learn from real world experiences by working in the various manufacturing sites of the Aditya Birla Group, in one of four sectors: Metals, Cement, Pulp & FibrE, Chemicals, Fertilizers and Insulators.
  • Network With Senior Leaders
    Learn and gain from the insightful mentorship and guidance provided to you by leaders with exemplary careers in their respective fields.
  • Structured Induction
    An induction that gives you the opportunity to meet the Group’s senior most leaders and benefit from their insights and experiences.
  • Confirmation Review
    An end of year review conducted by your unit’s leadership team. The outcome of this review determines whether candidates will be confirmed as ELPs.

Year 1 Post Training

Development Assessment Centres create custom development plans for all participants thereby ensuring a training and learning plan best suited to the individual's needs, wants, and requirements.

Behavioural and functional learning and development interventions matched to the ELP’s corresponding career stage to ensure continuous re-skilling and up-skilling.

Regular career conversations to help us understand your aspirations in order to align them with appropriate manufacturing career opportunities. The ultimate objective would be to impart a holistic experience within the manufacturing domain to all participants to prepare them for manufacturing roles of meaningful responsibility.
