Working in Thailand had been a truly life-changing experience. Entering the chemicals industry felt like a daunting climb, so for the first two weeks, I found myself back in a classroom mode, learning the fundamentals of chemistry, business models, and the finer nuances of the industry. What made the journey meaningful was that my project brief gave me enough room to explore, structure my own methodology, and grow through the process. My team was my biggest support system from day one — not just in helping me understand business complexities and chemistry routes, but also in making me feel comfortable outside the office, from recommending places to dine in Bangkok to helping me settle into a new environment. Beyond work, the stint also contributed immensely to my personal growth. Living by yourself in a new city teaches you independence, but living by yourself in a new country takes that learning to an entirely different level. Thailand gave me the chance to explore, experiment, and step outside my comfort zone. I have always valued independence and freedom, which made solo travel a natural choice for me. During my time in Thailand, I pushed myself to try new cuisines, experience different cultures, explore new terrains, and participate in activities I had not tried before. My biggest takeaway from this stint has been that experience cannot be substituted by AI prompts. I have witnessed the integration of AI into our lives at an unimaginable pace, and ithas undoubtedly made research, analysis, and first-level problem solving much easier. However, at ABCT, I worked with industry veterans who carried decades of market intelligence, customer understanding, and business judgment. Information that I struggled to find across AI tools and online platforms was often at their fingertips. So, while I look forward to learning and leveraging AI tools, this stint taught me that some capabilities are built only with time, exposure, and lived experiences.
