Program
Engineering Leadership Program is a technical management program for final year engineering students pursuing full-time B.E/B. Tech degrees. On joining the Aditya Birla Group, in one of its manufacturing sectors, participants undergo a structured 12 – months training on the shop floor, in the classroom, and digitally. Upon successful completion of the training period and subsequent confirmation at the end of the 12-month period, participants are placed into a full-time role in a technical function with any one of the group’s manufacturing units. The Group offers exciting learning and diverse career growth opportunities for young engineers by virtue of providing them with varied assignments within and across business throughout their tenure and aims to churn out Great Manufacturing Professionals.
Students in their final year pursuing a full-time B.E/B. Tech from select engineering colleges are eligible to apply for the ELP program.
Hiring follows a 3-stage assessment process:
- Online assessment tests
- Group discussions
- Personal interviews
Key Elements of the 12-months Training Period
- 3-day group induction will be followed by business-driven induction.
- The subsequent training will then be divided into phases wherein the first phase will be that of training consisting of two stints of 3 months each followed by 6 months of “On the Job Training” at any Unit location across India. The stints are aimed to enable a deep technical know- how of plant/ site processes.
- Reviews, feedback, and mentoring sessions will be conducted at the end of each stint within the unit with a view to develop and guide the trainee.
- On confirmation, the participants will be provided a final place of posting and a detailed job description of the final role based on performance during this time.
Year 1 of ELP
Year 1 Post Training
Development Assessment Centres create custom development plans for all participants thereby ensuring a training and learning plan best suited to the individual's needs, wants, and requirements.
Behavioural and functional learning and development interventions matched to the ELP’s corresponding career stage to ensure continuous re-skilling and up-skilling.

The ultimate objective would be to impart a holistic experience within the manufacturing domain to all participants to prepare them for manufacturing roles of meaningful responsibility.
